Trained as an architect, Ilija Gubic (b. 1982) lives and works in Serbia and Rwanda. He is appointed visiting assistant lecturer at the School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Rwanda, where he teaches theory of architecture. Ilija Gubic was a researcher at the Columbia University in New York City, USA and Politecnico di Milano in Italy, and has been publishing papers regarding art and architecture. In 2019 he exhibited at the Accessible Art Fair in Brussels (Belgium), the Triennial of Visionary Art in Belgrade (Serbia) and the Izihirwe Art Gallery (Kigali, Rwanda). Two museums have Ilija Gubic’s artworks in their collections: the Museum of Naïve and Marginal Art in Serbia and Rwanda Art Museum in Rwanda. Also, some of his art works are in private collections in Canada, USA and Switzerland.
